From 2010-2013 we upgraded our fleet with over 414,300 new cylinders, and invested over $15 million building a world leading cylinder testing facility. In 2014-2015, we’re investing in a further 139,600 cylinders – that’s one new cylinder every eight minutes!
In the years ahead we will continue to invest in new cylinders and valves to ensure that when you do business with BOC, you can be even more confident in the package we provide. Many of our new cylinders have market leading capacities enabling you to reap the rewards of longer times between fills and reduced downtime.
This mammoth and complex task isn’t something we have to do – it’s something we’ve chosen to do as leaders in our field. By continually challenging ourselves to raise the bar we ensure our customers can always count on us to deliver the very best gas-related products and services.
Important notice
Safety is of paramount importance to BOC. Although higher pressure enables us to supply more gas in a cylinder, you will be required to check that your regulator can operate at the increased pressure. Shielding gas regulators manufactured to Australian Standard AS 4267-1995 can be safely used with the new high technology cylinders.
How will this affect you?
Our new cylinders will deliver significant benefits to our customers. They contain more gas than existing packages. The greater capacity means increased time between fills, which in turn means better productivity no matter what the end use.
Whilst we do enjoy seeing our customers, seeing them less often because they are able to keep working longer is no bad thing.
For the new cylinders, the price of the gas per m3 will stay the same. As there is more gas in each cylinder, total price for gas in a cylinder will increase. Other charges including handling, delivery and container service charges will remain the same as the original cylinder.
Please note: cylinder charges and gas pricing are subject to review.
